JANUARY 2006 : CWT GLOBELINK OPENS OFFICE IN EGYPT



CWT Globelink has extended its reach to the land of the pharaohs after opening Globelink Egypt SAE, a move that is designed to build upon its traditionally strong presence in Asia and Africa.

In keeping with the company's slogan for the newly formed office: "Linking Egypt to the World; Linking the World to Egypt", Globelink Egypt's branches in Alexandria, Cairo and Port Said will provide LCL consolidation as well as freight forwarding and related activities globally.

With the addition of the Egypt office, the CWT Globelink network boasts over 40 offices in 13 countries including Australia,China, Indonesia, India, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, UAE and Vietnam.

FEBRUARY 2006 : CWT GLOBELINK RE-LAUCH DIRECT WEEKLY SAILING TO SHENZHEN




CWT Globelink re-launch direct weekly sailing from Singapore to Shenzhen after Chinese New Year. The new service can accept all cargo except Alcohol, Wine, Cigarette Car, Auto Parts, Cosmetic, Return Cargo, Used Item, Personal Effects, Dangerous Cargo.

The service will cover all inland points surrounding Pearl Delta River. All customs clearance has to be done in Shenzhen (POD).

APRIL 2006 : GLOBELINK WEST STAR INAUGURATES NEW WAREHOUSE AT DUBAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT






In an effort to offer integrated value-added airfreight services, Globelink West Star has inaugurated another new warehouse at Dubai International Airport.

The opening is officiated by Globelink Weststar Managing Director, Mr. Martin J. Aranha on 16 March 2006. With the new warehouse in the airport, Globelink West Star's Airfreight team, under the strong stewardship of Mr. Ramesh Kamath, Senior Airfreight Manager, would be able to offer better and higher value-added airfreight services to its customers.

The warehouse is also equipped to handle the specialized Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) packing.This new development in airfreight would further strengthen Globelink West Star's market leadership position in United Arab of Emirates. It is also in line with the Globelink Group's business strategies to grow and enhance its presence in the airfreight business. Globelink West Star offers sea-air services from Dubai into various European destinations.

MAY 2006 : GLOBELINK KOREA LAUNCHES DIRECT CONSOLIDATION SERVICES TO GUAYAQUIL (ECUADOR)




Globelink Korea has started a direct consol service to Guayaquil (Ecuador) this April.

Busan will serve as a transshipment hub and receive cargo from China, S.E.Asia & the Indian Sub continent.Our consol service will be based on Hamburg Sud sailing schedule, which runs a 19-day transit time from Busan/Guayaquil, departing Busan every Monday.Globelink will cooperate with Econotrans ECUADOR S.A., a member of Econocaribe network of offices.Econotrans has offices in Ecuador and Quito, which enables it to handle both sea and air cargo.Together with Econotrans, we have penetrated the rising FCL market EX ASIA / ECUADOR and will continue our effort towards increasing our market share of FCL shipments and pursuit of good service contract rates.China has become Ecuador's third largest trading partner after the US & Colombia.

JULY 2006 : GLOBELINK SHENZHEN LAUNCHES A NEW DIRECT SERVICE AND GLOBELINK KOREA STARTS A NEW TRADE LANES TO EUROPE.




Globelink Shenzhen recently launched a direct service to Panama . The new service provides a faster link between South China and Central America destinations. Globelink Korea expands its direct consol service. With effect from 1 st July 2006, Globelink Korea will start LCL consol service to Gothenburg, Helsinki and Copenhagen.

NOVEMBER 2006 : GLOBELINK WW INDIA'S MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH IN CARGO HANDLING




Globelink W W India Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, a leading consolidator in India has ventured into a new realm by undertaking a PROJECT CARGO (STEEL COLD ROLLING MILL) shipment to none other than the linchpin of steel industry "Arcelor Mittal" to Mr Mittal's, South African plant (Durban /Johannesburg) which was both through sea & air shipments from Mumbai / Nhava Sheva / Chennai.

The shipper M/s Flat Products Equipments (India) Ltd is also a well-renowned name of international repute that has carved a niche in itself as the first and the only company in India to export Cold Rolling Mills to various parts of the world with an annual turnover of Rs 1800 million.This project cargo became Globelink W W's baby in March 2006 and till date it has been a challenging endeavor to handle these shipments as break-bulk, containerized (normal/flat rack), ODC –flat bed containers as well as air shipments.

The shipments mainly consisted of steel structures, columns, beams, machinery, electrical panels and equipments for erecting a cold rolling mill. About 90 percent of the shipments which have already been shipped out consisted of 4095 cbm / 1049452 kgs in break bulk, 29teu/ 2 open top & 2 flat rack containers. The break-bulk shipments were handled from MBPT and the containers shipments including ODC from Nhava Sheva port.

DECEMBER 2006 : 2006 ANNUAL CONFERENCE



CWT Globelink held its 2006 Annual Conference in Cairo, Egypt this year.

The conference was attended with the largest number of participants as compared to the pervious years. A total of more than 120 delegates from Globelink offices and 27 agents attended the conference. During the conference, CWT Globelink announced the formation of Globelink Uniexco and Globelink Vietnam in Spain and Vietnam respectively. In addition, CWT Globelink have also expanded its India network commendably from 2 offices to 22 offices which includes major ports and Inland Container Depots like Cochin, Tuticorin, Calcutta, Bangalore and etc. The Chairman of CWT Globelink, Mr Tan Choon Wei, also shared on the group's business strategy and direction for the forthcoming years. The sharing of ideas helps the group to work on common platform.

With some new agents joining the conference this year, the four-day discussion provided an excellent opportunity for the participants to exchange business ideas, strengthen mutual business ties, foster better understanding of market condition in each territory and move on unanimously towards achieving common goal. Last but not least, all participants gave full credit to the host, the Globelink Egypt team, for the wellorganized arrangement. All participants brought back many unforgettable memories including their visits to the Giza pyramid, the museum and the eventful dining experience at the pyramid with camel.
